People interpret the bible to support all kinds of things that I'm pretty sure Jesus would *never* do. I've always thought that, if people can't figure out how to live their lives well & in peace with others, then it's a good thing that religion is around to help guide them. But, it's not a good thing if they just try to use religion to justify continuing to live their lives just as they were going to do so anyway, without regard or respect for others or the world.
This is from the story of Lot - wikipedia on it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lot_(Bible) It's the Sodom & Gomorrah story and it's so horribly misinterpreted by so many people.

Me too sister, me too.
Is that really in the Bible? I'm adding that one to my list. It's not a nice list either.
