Today it’s Ganesha Chaturthi over here; the day when Lord Ganesha is worshipped by the Hindus. He is believed to be the supreme god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune. To know why he has an elephant head, you can click on the following link :

On the eve of Independence Day, some one at work had put this on my desk.

You could tell that independence day is near when there is sudden appearance of people selling Indian flags and batches at traffic signals.

One of the maintenance guys at work was wearing this gorgeous rakhi on his wrist.

Today is Rakhi or the Raksha Bandhan festival. On this day a sister ties a rakhi thread on her brother’s right wrist and prays for his health, protection and well being.

I love how Kass is in focus and then my two girls are both in this smoky, blurry capture. Makes them look ghostly.

Here is the kids with Papa getting ready to start the Parade. I have
never seen so many people in such a small town (No more then 200
residents). There was at least 300+ people taking part/watching the
parade. SO MUCH FUN! Every kid that was in town took part as well as
the retired.

This is Dave Bruno at our Greendale parade. He's actually a real estate agent. He sold my husband our house. Dave is known for dressing up in the 4th of July parade. He's dressed as Elvis, Superman, a Greendale cheerleader and so many other costumes. Obviously he doesn't take life too seriously. Bravo Dave!

Fun with sparklers and long exposures

We took a dinner cruise on a tall ship in Toronto Harbour to see the 4th of July fireworks (yes, they had them here!) There was a small cannon on board which they fired... this was total luck to capture it at the exact moment of firing!

A rainy 4th - but at least it let up for a bit.

And let the reckless endangerment of children begin!

Happy Memorial Day!

My 3 cards from my 3 guys on Mother's Day. Spongebob from Noah, the middle one from Mike and the Mother-to-be card from my soon-to-be-here baby Nate. When I was pregnant with Noah, Mike didn't realize that Moms-to-be celebrate Mother's Day too. So, he never even wished me a Happy Mother's Day that year. This year, he apologized and called that one of the worst mistakes he made and was really sorry.I just asked him, if he ever knows a guy in the same situation to clue him in. He agreed. It may be silly to some, but even pregnant mommies are still mommies and deserve some happy wishes.

Here's my mom with flowers my brother and his wife brought. They always
give such gorgeous flowers. I planted her a pot of petunias which were not
in bloom yet but will continue the beauty after these are gone.

This was my one and only Mother's Day offering today... inside read, "Dear
Mommy, You do know I love you with only all my heart! "wink wink" (haha I
don't know why I said "wink wink" I just got bored.) And you've helped me
through Dad problems and school problems. So I'm just glad your in my life
to help me through the days, to feed me, and love me! Your the best Mom in
the world and I thank you for your hard work! Haha and I also thank you for
giving me your good looks and my beautiful eyes! No, really, look, aren't
they stunning?! Your daughter, Emily"

Awwww...that kind of makes up for the big mess she left around the house
this weekend, don't you think?
