Sarah 315/365

This is Alices Grandma Patti. She ADORES Grandma Patti. Every Wednesday and every Sunday Patti picks her up for church and often on the weekends they take the girls to the campground with them in the summer time, in winter they go to Grandma and Grandpas house.

Robert and I would like to move away from this town, but moving would take Alice away from Grandma Patti, that would be heartbreaking for her and I just can't do it. It would break our relationship even more then it already is. Not only would it break our relationship, but I think it would break her in some way.

Sarah, We have a similar situation with my ex-husbands (who passed away in 03)family. We want to move away so bad but it's hard to imagine them not being as close as they are. So we stay. I keep thinking 8 more years until she's 18. AH the choices we have to make as parents! Love the picture BTW!

Thanks Robin. It is a tough situation to be in and it's nice to know we aren't alone in it.

Geez, Grandma Patti doesn't look like a Grandma to me! What a special relationship - they are both so lucky.

I can't get over the resemblance between Alice and Grandma Patti! This makes me want to see a photo of A's bio-dad.

I don't know why I've held back with my comments. I think that it's just that this photo is remarkably touching - right to the core. Alice looks so indefinably content - heartbreakingly happy. I'm not kidding - I have tears in my eyes as I type. I think it's the peace I see - yup, peace.

Now, for all I know, the moment after this shot was taken, she was pulling GM Patti's hair, LOL. But this photo catches a special moment in time. Very special. It's in her eyes and her Mona Lisa smile. :) And, yes, Patti & Alice look so much alike!

Your veryveryvery huge sacrafices should feel validated and rewarded every time you look at this. xoxo
