"I CRINGE when I think of having this picture on the net, because I hate my
legs but some of my fellow participants have been so brave about their
postings and I need to get over myself! With that said, I came home from
Missouri covered in these red, itchy (like OMG you want to dig your skin off
itchy) bumps that are only on my legs from my knees down. There are over 30
of them, mostly on the back of my legs, I wish they would go away and more
importantly I wish I knew what they are from, I was hardly outside so I'm
pretty sure it wasn't mosquitoes...."

Looks like chigger bites to me. They're in the tall grass and weeds around here. Regardless, I'd probably use some cortisone cream on them; maybe take some Benadryl if the itching is too bad. Anything to relieve the itching (other than scratching, of course).

Linda, I'd never heard of that before, but to me it sounds like what I have. Thank you! The itching and etc is bad, and I did put some cortizone cream on, that did help but the bumps are still really really red and icky! I was at my brothers house and they just moved in and haven't had a chance to get the yard mowed and etc so that very well could be what I have!

An ex in law of mine got them all over her butt at the beach one weekend, awful!

Kudos to you for posting a picture of your legs, I think they look great, sans the bug bites of course! :)

I will be doing the 2nd year of envisiage and I've been checking out the last little stretch of the first. These definitely look like chiggers. Wal-Mart sells chiggerx. It's a little white jar with red lettering. Works GREAT!
